Lockyer Valley Regional Council has finalised its draft Corporate Plan and now Council wants you to have a say!

The Corporate Plan (2017-2022) maps out the work Council will strive to achieve over the next five years to respond to the aspirations of the Community Plan. The Community Plan, “Lockyer – Our Valley, Our Vision” details the community’s vision for the region until 2027.

Council is required by law (Local Government Act 2009) to develop a Corporate Plan that aligns with the Community Plan.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Councillor Tanya Milligan said the draft Corporate Plan mapped Council’s direction over the next five years to ensure the organisation delivered a sustainable future for the region.

“The Corporate Plan aims to achieve the vision and outcomes for the region and is informed by the Community Plan, Long Term Financial Plan, Long Term Asset Management Plan and a range of key strategic plans, both internal and external to Council.

“Basically, it keeps us accountable, and that is extremely important to us as a Council,” she said.

Mayor Milligan urged community members to take the opportunity to have their say on the document.

“The Corporate Plan defines the direction for your Council over the next five years, so it is a document worthy of your review, regardless of your age,” Mayor Milligan said.

The Plan is now available on Council’s website. A copy of the draft document can also be found in Council’s offices and libraries in Gatton and Laidley.

The consultation period runs until Wednesday 5 April, 2017.
