Police have four people in custody after two stolen vehicles were allegedly driven dangerously through Toowoomba CBD before one of the cars came to a crashing stop at Grand Central Shopping Centre this morning.

It will be alleged a white BMW 120i and a white Volkswagen Polo were stolen during a burglary at a Geoffrey Street residence in Mount Lofty overnight.

With the assistance of Polair, police tracked the vehicles and successfully deployed tyre deflation devices.

The BMW was located at Grand Central shopping complex after it had been involved in a minor traffic crash in the car park around 10am.

With the assistance of members of the public, police arrested four people inside the shopping centre.

Detectives are investigating several other linked offences including the theft of two other vehicles during burglaries and a fuel drive-off.

A red Isuzu DMax dual cab utility with registration 1ID8UX was stolen from an address in New South Wales and a red 2009 Mazda 6 with Queensland registration 808MWG was stolen during a burglary at Middle Ridge this morning.

Both vehicles remain outstanding and investigations are continuing.

A 26-year-old Quilpie woman, a 32-year-old Goondiwindi woman and a 15-year-old Wilsonton Heights boy are currently assisting police with their inquiries.
