The upgrade of the John Street Drinking Water Supply Bore in Cambooya has been delayed one week.

Toowoomba Regional Council Portfolio Leader for Water and Waste Cr Cahill said that Council is upgrading the bore, which is the only operational bore, supplying the Cambooya Township to improve the reliability and sustainability of the water supply.

“Due to a delay from the equipment manufacturer, the upgrade work is now scheduled for 9 – 19 July 2018. The bore will be offline to allow the upgrade to be completed efficiently and safely, Cr Cahill said.

“During the upgrade works Council will supply drinking water via tankers from existing Council drinking water systems. This water will be delivered to the existing reservoir located to the south of the township to ensure a continual supply of drinking water.

“Cambooya township residents are urged to cease all town water outdoor use or any unnecessary town water-based activities to help manage demand for water during these works.  This will ensure there is a sufficient supply of drinking water for residents during the bore upgrade.

“Council thanks residents for their patience and co-operation during these upgrade works.”
