Dalby's Margot Robbie has been nominated for the “Best Actress” award at this year’s Oscars – Robbie’s first ever Oscar nomination, which we find pretty hard to believe.
Robbie is nominated for her portrayal of controversial figure skater Tonya Harding, in “I, Tonya.”
When Margot first read the script she thought although it was good, she considered it far-fetched, before finding out it was based on a true story.
She said: “I kept turning the page and the scenario became even more outlandish. Imagine my surprise when I found it was based on fact. real life is crazier than fiction, right out there.”
Margot is up against Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Meryl Streep (The Post), Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water) and Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird) for the award.
Tune into the Oscars Monday March 5 (AEDT) at 9AM and watch as Margot Robbie walks away with her very first Oscar - that's the power of positive thinking right there!
The ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, 5:00 p.m. on Sunday March 4, 2018.
