Airbnb operators and customers in New South Wales are still left without answers after the State Government stalled on any decision regarding legislation for the home-sharing service.

Fair Trading Minister Matt Keen was forced to cancel yesterday's press conference last minute, after pushback from the Coalition party room.

Following years of consultation, Mr Keen was expected to announce regulation including bans for misbehaving hosts and guests and a cap on the number of nights for short-term holidays.

It's believed the announcement was delayed due to strong opposition, and negotiations will now continue behind the scenes.
