Election campaigns for the Orange City, Blayney Shire and Cabonne Councils are officially underway, with nominations for candidates closed as of midday.
A ballot draw will be held for each council at 6pm tonight, to determine the order in which the candidates will appear on the ballot paper on September 9.
After that's been locked away, a final list of candidates running for the council elections will be available on the NSW Electoral Commission website.
As of 1pm today (August 9th), seven candidates have thrown their hat into the ring, for a shot at Orange mayor. The September 9th election will be unlike any other, as residents will directly vote for a Mayor for the first time.
