Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced we'll finally see works begin on the Rockhampton railway line.
$4.1 Million will be pumped into the project, with JBS needing the upgrade to allow imports and exports out the region.
Palaszczuk says we, the beef capital of Australia needs this to continue to grow, “in fact I had many investors say to me, it is the best beef exhibition they have seen in the world and what that means is more export dollars for Queensland, already over $4 billion is exporting in terms of Queensland beef. We want to grow that industry.”
Meanwhile Keppel MP Brittany Lauga says it's going to help farmers in the region, “Beef Manufacturing is one of the greatest employers and one of the biggest industries in Rockhampton we are the beef capital of Australia and this investment by the Palaszczuk labour government will help support beef manufacturing jobs here in Rockhampton.”
