Kemp hill more accessible!

Central Queensland residents can rejoice as the road to Kemp Hill gets that little bit more accessible.

Livingstone Shire Council have announced the Scenic Highway at Statue Bay will reopen to the community today.

One of the most challenging engineering projects in the region’s history finally came to completion this week and it’ll be traversable this afternoon.

The road has been undergoing maintenance since the devastating impact of Cyclone Marcia in 2015 with Council taking the reins in March this year.

The road had its final seal coat applied this week, with the concrete footpath, balustrade fencing, road line-marking, guardrail and drainage completed.

Drone footage of the construction works has been uploaded to the Council’s website and can be found here.
