Rockhampton Regional Council are launching a brand new children's book focusing on food safety!

Council invites parents & children to head along to Gracemere Shopping Centre on October 25 from 10am-12pm for a special launch of the book, Charlotte and Jack Go Grocery Shopping

The launch will be held as part of Rockhampton Regional Libraries’ Storytime Session and all children will receive a FREE copy of the book at the event.

Chair of Council’s Planning and Regulatory Committee, Councillor Ellen Smith, said the book has been developed by Council’s Environment and Public Health team and is the first of a series set to be rolled out.

“Food safety is something important for all ages and we are very excited to launch the first of this educational series for our younger residents,” Cr Smith said.
“It follows the adventures of food safety explorers, Charlotte and Jack, who will take readers through a range of food safety issues that can occur when shopping. The book was developed as part of our education plan and is for ages 2 to 6.
“All children will receive a free copy of the book at the event next Thursday, so be sure to plan your day by coming along to a story time session and then take the kids grocery shopping where they can complete the activities in the book and learn all about food safety.”
