Would You Use This App To Find A Spot In Terrigal?

Central Coast Council is hoping it's new parking app will take pride of place on your smartphone beside the likes of Spotify and Instagram.

Mayor Jane Smith says ParkSpot is now available, providing real time information on parking availability for Terrigal Surf Club and The Haven.

"People can now check what parking is available before they get into Terrigal," Mayor Smith says.

"Each park spot has a sensor feeding information into the app, so it'll be a case of you going directly where that parking spot is."

While Mayor Smith's also urging common sense - we shouldn't be using the mobile phone app while behind the wheel, but get a passenger to do so or check beforehand.

The Terrigal sensors are part of a larger project announced late last year, while will also see 200 sensors installed in Gosford CBD eventually.

There are no plans for something similar at The Entrance at this stage.
