Woman missing from Avoca Beach


Brisbane Water Police have confirmed an elderly woman reported missing from Avoca Beach has been found safe and well.

88 year old Eileen Gardner was located at a hotel in Gosford yesterday afternoon and was staying in a room there.

Police say they don't know the circumstances surrounding her movements.

Her family reported her missing yesterday, saying she was last seen at a bus stop on Carolina Park Road around 1pm on Tuesday  and held concerns for her safety.


EARLIER: Police are appealing to the public to help them locate an elderly woman missing from Avoca Beach.

Eileen Gardiner, aged 88, was last seen at a bus stop at the intersection of The Round Drive and Carolina Park Road about 1pm yesterday.

Concerned family reported her missing to police after searching Gosford Railway Station and local bus stops.

Mrs Gardiner suffers from a medical condition that requires medication.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, with a fair complexion and short dark hair.

Mrs Gardiner was last seen wearing a light coloured top, and was possibly wearing light blue pants and cream coloured slip-on shoes.
