Update 17:20 - Central Coast Council has responded to questions over lack of protective clothing with this photo.

Central Coast Council is again under fire again over Wamberal Beach...despite actually trying to clean it up.

Crews and an excavator arrived on site today to remove asbestos that was uncovered during the east coast low in June last year.

But a spokesperson for Wamberal Protection Association has likened their actions to that of 'cowboys', saying they wore no protective clothing, erected no signage, no pedestrian control, caused further cliff material to collapse and left a quantity of the potentially deadly material buried under loose sand which is now a magnet for children to play on.

The EPA has been informed, while Council has been asked for a comment.
