A man's been charged following a fiery crash on the M1 overnight, bringing the Central Coast's road toll to 17 lives lost so far this year.

Two men - aged 19 and 52 - were killed when a B-double slammed into the back of two cars north of the Mooney Mooney bridge and burst into flames.

Another six people were hospitalised by the incident.

The 30-year-old truck driver's in Gosford and he will front Gosford court on dangerous driving occasioning death and grievous bodily harm charges later this month. 

Four women are also recovering in Gosford Hospital, while a 75-year-old woman was taken to the Royal North Shore.

All northbound lanes of the motorway are open as of 1:00AM, with traffic flowing.

July has been the deadliest month so far for the Coast's roads, with more than a third of people killed last month.

Three people have died on the M1 in our patch since January.
