With the mercury tipped to hit 31 degrees tomorrow, accompanied by strong winds, the RFS has declared the first Total Fire Ban for the season.
The Total Fire Ban, which is in place from midnight Tuesday night til midnight Wednesday night, impacts all of the Central Coast - and extends to the Greater Hunter, Greater Sydney, North Coast and North Western regions - a massive chunk of the state.
During the ban period - fires are not to be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended during a Total Fire Ban. Gas and electric barbeques may be used provided certain conditions are met.
Total Fire Ban rules and a map of current Total Fire Ban areas are listed at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au.
