A 24 hour Total Fire Ban will be in place on the Central Coast from midnight tonight as we head for a September scorcher tomorrow.
All up, 12 regions will be affected, including Greater Sydney which takes in the former Gosford and Wyong Local Government Areas.
The Hunter is also subject to a ban.
The mercury will climb into the mid 30's as thousands head for the beach to cool off for the start of the school holidays.
Luckily tomorrow also sees the flags go up across the 15 patrolled beaches on the Central Coast, with the red and yellow army of lifesavers out in force.
It's the second fire ban declaration of the month, and comes ahead of the the official start of the bushfire season on October 1.
