It's National Volunteer Week, with calls for more Coasties give up their time for a worthy cause.
We've got a higher proportion of people giving up their time for a worthy cause than Sydney: 46,000 across the region overall or around 17 per cent of us!
Volunteering Central Coast boss Fiona Morrison says if you've got an interest, a hobby or just want to help, there are plenty of ways to roll up your sleeves.
"We have people who help with tours of the Norah Head Lighthouse, who feed the pelicans at The Entrance, who help Riding with the disabled, or even Velma's Pet Therapy, where they take pets into aged care facilities for the residents to enjoy," Ms Morrison explains.
"At any time, we have 350 vacancies - people who need volunteers. So there are lots of opportunities to get out there and volunteer in your local community."
While some of the region's most dedicated will be honored in an awards ceremony at Volunteering Central Coast's Erina expo next week.
