It's been a tough ask getting out of bed on the Central Coast over the past few days, with several parts shivering through their coldest mornings of the year so far.

It got down to -0.2 at Mangrove Mountain yesterday, and 0.9 in Gosford.

It was cold again in the city this morning, exactly one degree, but the weather bureau's Gabrielle Woodhouse says there'll be a reprieve for mums and dads trying to drive little ones out from under the doona for school tomorrow.

"We will see minimum and maximum temperatures increase by around six degrees over the next few days," Ms Woodhouse says.

"Sunny conditions remaining and maximum temperatures will get into the 20-degree mark, which is lovely for this time of year. We tend to see these cool and frosty conditions when we have really clear skies, light winds and when cold fronts move through."
