A teenage boy from The Entrance has been left with a large gash down the side of his face, after getting into a fight at Cooranbong yesterday.

It's claimed a 23 year old Wyee man punched the 16 year old several times in the head outside a house on Freemans Drive around 1.30pm, before holding a knife to his throat.

He's then accused of cutting the left side of his face. The boy was taken to Gosford Hospital where he required more than a dozen stitches.

The older man will face Toronto Local Court today.

Police say the pair are known to eachother.
