A man's been arrested, charged and bailed, after allegedly causing $10,000 worth of damage to the Bunnings construction site in Charmhaven.

Tuggerah Lakes Police say the 20-year-old's admitted to breaking into the site last night, leaving a trail of graffiti and smashed up vehicles and vending machines in his wake.

They arrested him in Lake Haven shopping centre around 11:20pm.

He was reportedly wearing a clown face mask and armed with a knife at the time, and carrying coins, spray cans and pliers in his bags.

Officers have also seized his phone, claiming he filmed himself doing some of the damage.

The San Remo man's currently out on conditional bail, set to face Wyong Local Court on October 17 on 11 charges including six counts of malicious damage.
