The NRMA today released its annual ‘Funding Local Roads’ report, highlighting a $1.96 billion funding backlog needed to bring NSW’s local roads up to a ‘satisfactory condition’ and renewing calls for improved funding support for local roads.
The NRMA report, Funding Local Roads, used figures submitted by the Central Coast’s two local councils to the NSW Government. It found an $81.9 million backlog in funding to maintain local roads to a safe standard:
Gosford – $59.3 million
Wyong - $22.5 million.
Only PORT MACQUARIE-HASTINGS at 97 million and WAGGA WAGGA at a staggering 297 million have bigger backlogs.
