Avoca Beach is a local hot spot for shark attacks.
Researchers from University Of Newcastle and Macquarie Uni have had a look at every mauling off Australia's coastline over the 20 years.
They've found more than a third of the eight incidents on the Central Coast were at Avoca.
The most recent of them, back in November, saw a British doctor suffer arm injuries when he was bitten by a two metre beast.
Other locations for the attacks included:
- Lake Beach, Budgewoi
- Crackneck Point, Bateau Bay,
- And Macmasters Beach
The analysis also showed one quarter of the Coast’s attacks were provoked.
None were fatal, while all but two caused injury to the victim.
