A Federal Minister is paying our region a visit today, 12 months to the day since the election of the Turnbull government.

Employment Minister Michaelia Cash will be at East Gosford this afternoon joining Robertson MP Lucy Wicks.

It's a busy day for Ms Cash, who's reportedly set to announce alongside the Prime Minister up to 10,000 young welfare recipients will receive a hand getting back into the workforce.

News Corp reports Mr Turnbull and Ms Cash have reached a deal with the Australian Retailers Association.

Under the plan - 15-24 year olds who have been on welfare for a minimum of six months will be given training and an internship.

The Coast will also host a Shadow Minister today, as Labor claims Medicare remains as much at risk as it was a year ago.

To highlight the issue, the Shadow Minister for Health will be at the GP Superclinic at Woongarrah at 12.30.
