Police seize vehicles after Lake Haven death

UPDATE 2PM:

Police have confirmed the death of 21 year old Coast man Jayden Mason, found with serious head injuries in Lake Haven on Saturday night, is being treated as a homicide investigation.

Acting Superintendent David Waddell addressed the media outside Wyong police station this afternoon, saying they're reviewing CCTV footage, have seized several cars and have spoken to a number of people.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident, and cause of Mr Mason's injuries, remain unknown, a post mortem on Wednesday is expected to shed more light on these.

"There were a number of altercations, I believe, that evening, and the exact nature of those and how was involved are still under investigation," Supt Waddell said, responding to speculation the deceased had been ejected from a nearby licensed premises just before being injured.

UPDATE 7AM: TUGGERAH LAKES POLICE are continuing to investigate the MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES surrounding the death of a 21-year-old man who was found BADLY INJURED and UNCONSCIOUS near the LEAGUES CLUB in LAKE HAVEN.

JAYDEN MASON was lying on the road with SEVERE HEAD INJURIES when a PASSING MOTORIST spotted him about 10.30pm on Saturday.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to John Hunter Hospital - yesterday his family made the decision to SWITCH OFF his LIFE SUPPORT after they learnt the extent of his BRAIN DAMAGE.

As they try to make sense of the events leading up to Mr Mason being found, police are looking to speak with the female driver of a blue ford falcon sedan, in her 50's, who stopped to help him.
