State Labor has recommitted to bringing jobs to the Central Coast, announcing it’s complete package of promises for Gosford ahead of the April 8 by-election.

At Kibble Park this morning, Opposition Leader Luke Foley announced a $100 million Advantage Fund and Job Action Plan to support local jobs and encourage companies to set up shop on the central coast.

"The Advantage Fund will be the centrepiece of the Plan and will be used to attract large scale business investment and work with local government and local companies to build on the region’s existing strengths," a statement from Mr Foley's office said.

It will focus on key economic development areas:

  • Gosford CBD
  • Somersby Business Park
  • Wyong Employment Zone
  • Bushells Ridge
  • West Gosford and Tuggerah corridors

"At present 30,000 people travel out of the region for work each day. On top of that, unemployment on the Central Coast is 7.9 per cent, well above the state average and 1 in 5 young people out of work," Mr Foley said.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Health Minister Brad Hazzard also returned to the Central Coast today, visiting the Gosford Public Hospital currently being redeveloped with candidate Jilly Pilon.
