A lucky escape for two jetski riders, airlifted to safety after becoming stranded halfway up a cliff on the Central Coast overnight.

The men had left Pretty Beach late arvo, with the alarm raised when they failed to return four hours later.

Police launched by land, air and sea, spotting them on a rock ledge at Iron Ladder Beach about 40 minutes.

The watercraft was washing up against rocks nearby.

The duo, aged in their 30s, was treated for cold and exposure in the chopper, before being released at Gosford Hospital.
