Hikers found safe at Mangrove Mountain

Relief for the families of three bushwalkers who lost their way at Dharug National Park near Mangrove Mountain overnight.

A man and two women aged in their late 60's...early 70's left around 9 yesterday morning from Berycry Road...just off Wisemans Ferry Road.

They last contacted family at two in the afternoon...and were due back at four.

However they got lost and managed to contact Police after dark.

With the assistance of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Rescue Squad and Police dog...they were located with a small camp fire spotted from the air.

The trio had no injuries...albeit one of the women a little exhausted.

None required medical treatment.
