Elderly Fisherman Rescued On Central Coast Island

An elderly man's had a lucky escape, rescued on the Central Coast after getting lost in his tinny in Sydney waters.

The 83-year-old had gone out fishing in the Pittwater area about 8:00AM yesterday and failed to return late afternoon.

It sparked a search by local Marine Rescue crews, police and the Westpac Rescue Chopper.

He was towed to safety just before 7:30PM after air paramedics spotted his small runabout boat grounded near St Huberts Island in Brisbane Water.

Thankfully, he wasn't injured.
