Disaster Assistance Funding Announced For November Storms Photo: Central Coast Council

UPDATEThe Federal Government's announced disaster relief funding for residents of the Central Coast, affected by the wild storms in early November.

Head to disasterassist.gov.au if you need support for property damage or loans for your small business.

Freight subsidies for primary producers and grants for non-profits are also available, while Central Coast Council will also be able to access Federal funding to help with restoring public assets damaged during the storms.

The storms saw mini tornadoes rip rooves of local homes, widespread power outages, and even sent a catamaran flying into the backyard of a Toukley home.

November 8th: Central Coast Council is advising residents still cleaning up from Monday's storms to utilise their free green kerbside pickups for green waste.

The place to book it in with Remondis our contractor at 1coast.com.au.

Nov 6th: Wyong SES reps continue to work to clean up nearly 50 properties around Toukley, which was hit by what locals have christened a "mini-tornado" earlier this week.

Central Coast Crews got more than 180 callouts to deal with leaky roofs and downed trees - half in Toukley alone - as more as 7mls of rain dumped itself across the area in fewer than 20 minutes yesterday afternoon.

The BOM reckons it was a super cell - the likes of which we've seen twice in the past 2 years at Berkley Vale.

The SES's Allan Benson says it's a timely reminder to prep our properties ---- ahead of more storms breaking out.

Nov 5: Residents of Toukley are cleaning up after what's been referred to by some as a "mini cyclone."

If you're trying to access Toukley, Main Rd is cut off from Cross St after wires went down.

Emergency crews are working to get power back to 1000 homes and businesses in Toukley, Noraville and Canton Beach after lines went down in the area.

Council has listed a series of roads to avoid in those suburbs, and in Jilliby, as crews work to restore power and clean the roads up.

TOUKLEY - Evans Road, Bumble Hill Road, Toukley and Dickson Road all affected.
YARRAMALONG - Bumble Hill Road - tree on road
JILLIBY - Dickson Road
