Dangerous Weekend On Coast Roads

A woman's been hospitalised with a significant hand injury and possible ones to her back and pelvis, following a two car crash at Chittaway Bay.

The vehicles slammed into each other just before 5pm yesterday, with one of them flipping onto its roof.

A 67-year-old woman was freed from the wreck and taken to Gosford Hospital for treatment overnight.

It capped off a pretty dangerous weekend on the Coast's roads.

There were four accidents on the M! yesterday afternoon, and two bike crashes in the space of 24 hours...

Earlier Story

A man aged in his 40s has been taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition after crashing his three-wheel motorcycle in Brooklyn this afternoon.

The man was unconscious after his trike had left the M1 Motorway and hit an embankment. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked shortly after 4pm, landing in an oval near the scene.

Police conveyed CareFlight’s medical team to the scene, where NSW Ambulance units were providing initial treatment.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic intubated the man, placing him in an induced coma to stabilise him.

The medical crew continued treatment in a road ambulance as they took the man to Royal North Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

It's one of four accidents to have happened on the M1 in the space of several hours this afternoon.
