A swimmer has been rescued from a rip off North Avoca Beach this morning, ahead of dangerous surf lashing at the Central Coast tomorrow.

Police were called to the scene about 8:30, quickly engaging an on-call lifesaver who managed to reach the man with a jetski.

Ambulance Media has confirmed the man refused to be transported to hospital, despite advice, after suffering non-life threatening injuries.

It's understood he is a regular at the beach and an experienced swimmer.

The incident's prompted police to warn beach-goers and rock fishers to be careful around our waterways, particularly with hazardous surf on the cards for the Coast tomorrow.
