Central Coast Tourism has effectively been told to pack it's bags...with confirmation today Council is going in another direction with it's 1.6 million dollar tourism contract.

The Administrator resolved this week to reject all tenders, and begin negotiations with the first-ranked option.

The member-ship based, not for profit Central Coast Tourism, was created 23 years ago to be the voice of the industry locally, and employed 9 full-time equivalent staff.

It ran the Gateway and Gosford Visitor Information Centres, and relied heavily on it's volunteers.

A special general meeting of CCT will take place at Wyong Race Club next Tuesday evening under newly appointed chairman David Jewell.
