Relief for Central Coast parents with Busways drivers cancelling planned industrial action tomorrow.

TWU members had intended to hold stop-work meetings during the morning and afternoon peaks....meaning no school runs by buses out of the company's Kincumber and Woongarrah depots.

An intense mediation session took place between the two parties at the Fair Work Commision today, with TWU calling the cancellation an  'act of good faith' as they fight for a new enterprise agreement.

However, some drivers still intend to stop work on Thursday, September 27 between 6am and 9am and between 2pm and 5pm, potentially causing some disruption to services.

Services in Busways’ Wyong network (operating north of Westfield Tuggerah), including school services, will operate to a normal school day timetable on Thursday as Busways has been able to coordinate its resources to cover scheduled weekday route and school services. Wyong school buses 2154, 2139, 2674 and 2690 won’t be in operation on Thursday.

Services in Busways’ Gosford bus network (services operating south of Westfield Tuggerah) will be restricted to operate to a Saturday timetable on Thursday, meaning there will be no dedicated school bus services, only scheduled Saturday route bus services.

Another meeting will take place tomorrow at the FWC.
