A big day in the Sydney Supreme Court has turned to disappointment for the family and friends of Greg Gibbons, with convicted killer Bradley James Brooks having his sentencing adjourned for a month for the murder of the popular Central Coast footballer.

Brooks faces a standard non-parole period of 20 years, after being found guilty of stabbing Gibbins in the chest on Main Road, Toukley back in 2015.

The 21-year-old was also convicted of wounding with malicious intent after stabbing Gibbins' friend Adam Swindell in the armpit.

Today did see powerful victim impact statements from Greg's parents, sisters and friend Adam Swindell, who was also injured that fateful night.

Facebook page "Justice for Gibbo" had been flooded with words of support ahead of the expected sentencing.
