A man will face Gosford Local Court tomorrow, charged over the death of a woman on the Central Coast last year.

Officers from Brisbane Water and Tuggerah Lakes Police Districts formed Strike Force Nellievale, a joint investigation, following the death of the 30-year-old woman on April 12, 2017.

The woman was found dead by her seven-year-old daughter in their home at Toowoon Bay. A post-mortem ruled infection as the cause of death.

Police will allege the woman underwent body modification surgery to have a “plastic snowflake” inserted under the skin of her right hand at an Erina tattoo parlour and complained of infection in the three weeks prior to her death.

Officers have been investigating another complaint by a second woman, aged 38, who underwent a stomach procedure at the business in November 2016.

Following inquiries, officers attended a home in Terrigal around midday today, and arrested a 37-year-old man.

The man was taken to the Gosford Police Station where he was charged with manslaughter in connection to the first incident and grievous bodily harm, relating to the second.

He's previously been charged with prohibition of female genital mutilation in May this year in relation to a complaint by a third woman in 2016.
