UPDATE: A woman has died and a man is critical, after a car hit water pipes outside an Erina Aged care centre on the Central Coast Highway earlier this morning.
Police say the car left the roadway at about 9:50 this morning, and the 70 year old woman went into cardiac arrest and died at the scene.
While the 50 year old man driving has been airlifted by the Westpac chopper to Sydney in a stable condition. It's understood he has neck and back injuries.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash, while two of three westbound lanes remain closed.
It's the third death on Central Coast roads in four days, while a man in his fifties also passed away while riding his pushbike on the Brian McGowan Bridge yesterday afternoon.
