The Canberra Chargers wheelchair basketball club is back at training, just days after their storage trailer was gutted by vandals.

Thieves broke into the trailer last week, making off with essential equipment and trailer parts.

It put a halt to training, which was terrible timing, as the club’s been preparing for an upcoming tournament in Young.

Club President Rohan Foy put a post about the incident on the Canberra Notice Board Group Facebook page, which attracted hundreds of shares and dozens of offers of help.

A number of locals and businesses have since helped get the trailer back up and running and training has resumed!

The club’s looking on the bright side, with several new players signing up since word got out of what happened.

It’s understood, the upcoming tournament in Young has been rescheduled, to give the club enough time to get fully back on track.

Another awesome reminder of how good the Canberra community is at coming together in times of need!
