A police officer was bitten by a dog while trying to arrest a dangerous driver at a Kambah home on Sunday night.

Police were searching for the 23-year-old Macquarie woman who drove dangerously and failed to stop for officers several times.

Police eventually tracked her down at a Kambah home on Sunday night, where she was arrested.

During the arrest, an officer was bitten by a dog, receiving minor injuries.

The woman faces the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday charged with first instance warrant, minor theft, ride/drive motor vehicle without consent and fail to appear after bail undertaking.

Investigations are ongoing into numerous other crimes.
