Just as the ski season kick-starts in the Southern Hemisphere, New South Wales ski resort Thredbo has announced that they will be banning tobogganing on its property.
Thredbo released a statement on the website on the matter, saying "to maximise safety for guests, employees, and resort property, Thredbo prohibits the use of toboggans and other miscellaneous snow sliding equipment that is associated with 'Snow Play' within our leasehold area".
The statement also highlighted the inherent risk of toboganning. This is due to limited control and rule breakers taking snow sliding equipment out of designed tobogganing areas.
Thredbo have confirmed that "no enquiries will be entertained from toboggan or miscellaneous snow sliding equipment users".
So, if you were planning on sliding around on a toboggan in Thredbo this ski season, you're out of luck.
