A man's suspicious death outside a home in RIVETT yesterday morning remains a mystery.
It’s after police were called to a home in Goodenia Street about 5:20am on Sunday December 17.
Police believe a man had gone there to get help, after suffering critical injuries.
Officers and paramedics tried to save the man, but he died at the scene.
Detective Station Sergeant Matt Reynolds said it’s too early to say what caused his injuries but the death is being treated as suspicious.
“There’s a lot of work to be done to determine the cause of death. We’ve spoken to a number of residents in the area and they’re assisting us with inquiries,” he said.
“We’re still trying to identify him and work out where he resides.”
Police confirmed the victim doesn’t live in Goodenia Street and the residents there weren’t involved with his death.
Detective Station Sergeant Matt Reynolds also confirmed the man wasn’t shot and they don’t believe it’s bikie-related.
He added, it’s too early to tell if drugs or alcohol were involved, but that will form part of the police investigation.
