Canberrans have rallied together in support of a local family devastated by the unexpected loss of their four-year-old son.

Blake Corney was killed in a crash on the Monaro Highway on the 28th of July.

Blake was in the car on the way to a toy shop with mum Camille, dad Andrew and little brother Aidan, but tragically, they never made it.

The tragedy has rocked all those who knew Blake, including Camille’s mother’s group.

They decided to set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for the family.

Amazingly, over $5000 has been raised in just one day!

“The money will help them stay at home as long as they need to, whether it’s covering bills and those sorts of things, we’d love part of it to go towards a memorial,” Camille’s mother’s group friend, Kylie Ingram, said.

“We’re absolutely gobsmacked by how much the Canberra community has jumped behind this. We cannot believe how much everyone has got behind us already, we’re really proud of Canberra.”

Kylie said the tragedy has really hit home for their group.

“It’s almost four years to the day we met Blake and we’re so grateful everyone’s got behind this and we can help Camille and Andrew in whichever way possible. Thank you all so much.”

You can help support Blake’s family too, by donating online.
