The cheers from the crowd are expected to be loud and proud when Christian Lealiifano hits the field in Friday’s Brumbies game.
He’s been named on the bench for the do-or-die Quarter Final against the Hurricanes at GIO Stadium.
It’s something Brumbies fans, and no doubt Christian himself have been waiting for, for some time.
Christian’s been out of Super Rugby since being diagnosed with leukaemia 10 months ago.
While it’s not guaranteed he’ll get to hit the field on Friday, fans will likely be surprised and disappointed if he doesn’t get the nod.
The expected reaction from the crowd from when Christian takes his first steps on the green may be just what the Brumbies need to get them over the line against the Hurricanes.
As for the rest of the team...
Head Coach Stephen Larkham’s made two changes to the side that played the Reds a fortnight ago.
Season-ending injuries to Kyle Godwin and Aidan Toua mean a start for James Dargaville and Andrew Smith.
The Brumbies take on the Hurricanes on Friday July 21 at GIO Stadium from 7:35pm.
