Several firefighting units and a water bombing helicopter had to be called out to a grass fire at the southern end of Cooleman Ridge near Kambah today.
The blaze, which was brought under control by around 5pm, was about 500 metres by 150 metres.
It was located about 600 metres from Allchin Circuit, Kambah.
The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level was set at ADVICE.
Luckily, no properties were at threat and no one was hurt.
Firefighters left the scene by about 6pm, while 11 units and an ACT Rural Fire Service officer stayed on, to mop up.
The area will be patrolled overnight, to ensure there’s no flare-ups.
