ACT Police are reminding young Canberrans about the dangers of joining bikie gangs, urging them to steer clear.

It’s as a 21-year-old former OMCG member faces the ACT Magistrates Court, over a shooting from over a year ago.

On Friday the 10th of March 2017, police responded to a car fire at a house in Isabella Plains, where they discovered gunshot damage to the Ellerston Avenue home.

The 21-year-old, who’s currently in custody for unrelated matters, faces charges of arson, discharge firearm endangering life and unauthorized possess/use of a firearm.

Detective Superintendent Scott Moller said Taskforce Nemesis will continue to crack down on bikie members, even ones involved in crimes from way back.

“You could be tapped on the shoulder at any time and we’ll act on any new information received from the public,” he said.

“I also warn anybody, particularly young men, who are considering joining these criminal gangs that you will be used by the gangs to perform the most violent crimes but abandoned by them when caught.”

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
