Canberra will be transformed into an illuminated hub of culture and creativity when Enlighten 2017 kicks off on Friday.

There’s a jam-packed program from March 3-12 featuring a range of free and ticketed entertainment, food, performances from a plethora of local talent, blockbuster exhibitions and did we say food?

Stunning architectural projections will light up six of our most iconic buildings – Parliament House, the National Portrait Gallery, the National Library, the Museum of Australian Democracy, the National Gallery and Questacon.

For the first time in the event’s history, the projections will be unveiled at a public event on the steps of the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House on Friday March 3 at 8pm.

In another first, there’s also an Enlighten Canberra App, which has all the information you need to plan your outing!

The Enlighten Night Noodle Markets also return to Reconciliation Place, with a whole variety of Asian and Western deliciousness.

Start with something savoury like the Phoritto – a pho soup inspired burrito from Little Kyoto, or you could try a sweet ‘n’ sour pork belly burger from Chur Burger. Drool!

POKLOL will be selling mouth-watering Korean BBQ tacos and Kusina will showcase their slow-cooked adobo pulled beef.

And of course, last year’s much-loved favourite – Bao Stop’s peking duck fries!

There’ll also be plenty of options to satisfy the sweet tooth, like Gelato Messina’s Great Balls of Fryer (deep fried gelato), the molten custard buns from Let’s Do Yum Cha, Black Star Pastry’s strawberry watermelon cake and the show-stopper.. Waffeland’s waffle on a stick!
