Police have called for witnesses to a violent road rage attack in Yarralumla last week.

Around 5:25pm on Thursday September 20, a man got out of a white sedan while stopped at traffic lights, then allegedly punched the driver of a blue Mazda 2 hatchback in the head several times, while yelling abuse.

The incident happened at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Coronation Drive.

A member of the public stepped in, before the man got back in the car and took off.

The cars had previously travelled via Weston Park Road, Novar Street, Adelaide Avenue and State Circle.

The culprit’s described as being about 20-years-old with dark hair and was wearing a cap.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
