Competition was fierce in this year’s Fashions on the Field at Thoroughbred Park.

The ladies and gents put in no shortage of effort – with attention given to every last detail.

But there could only be one winner in the women’s and men’s categories!

Cobie Sheehan took out the women’s category in her stunning navy frock, followed by runner up Alison Jones in her gorgeous floral dress.

The gents also went all out – with Joshua Burgess taking out the top prize with Trong Anh Kim Phan the runner up.

“I got the suit jacket a few weeks ago from a vintage retro stores in QLD while I was there for my best friend’s wedding. I thought it was really unique so I just tried to build around that,” Joshua said.

“The cane is my late grandads – he passed away this year… really unique accessory!”

HIT 104.7 Announcer and race day Ambassador, Bethany Larsen, said the races is one of her favourite days of the year.

“It is an opportunity to dress up, be creative with fashion and reconnect with fellow Canberrans,” she said.

“I had such a ball today and am much looking forward to our next racing event with Thoroughbred Park.”

As for the big race itself, all eyes were on the champion Canberra entrant.

While Single Gaze didn’t place, there was still plenty of celebrating to be had!

Local schools and businesses got amongst it as well..

Rekindling won the big race, followed by Johannes Vermeer and Max Dynamite.
