CANBERRA AIRPORT TO FINALLY GET A PUBLIC BUS SERVICE

By Renee Bogatko

In just over a week’s time, Canberrans and visitors to the capital will finally have a cheaper option to get to and from the airport!

The new service from the city to the Canberra Airport kicks in on Monday March 20, with bus route 11 to run seven days a week.

“The current Route 11 bus, which services the Brindabella Business Park and Fairbairn, will now also service the Canberra Airport terminal. Additional services will be introduced (Route 11A) that will service the Canberra Airport (via Russell) and return,” Transport Minister Meegan Fitzharris said.

“Customers will be able to take public transport from the City to the Canberra Airport, with services running about every half hour, better during peak times on weekdays, and every hour on weekends.”

Locals can travel with their MyWay card or pay a cash fare.

A single adult trip will cost $4.80, with cheaper fares for students and children.
