Big Bash League action comes to Canberra tomorrow, with Sydney Thunder facing off with the Melbourne Renegades at Manuka Oval.
It’s set to be a massive day, with the women’s game kicking off at 2:50pm and the men’s at 7:40pm.
As expected, both matches are sell outs!
Renegades player Kris Britt said one of the reasons she loves Canberra is because of how much support is offered to women’s cricket.
“So proud to be apart of the WBBL and the movement and the changes in the sport as a whole has ben really eye-opening for me and it’s fantastic to see the community get behind us,” she said.
“So many opportunities for young girls now coming through and it really can be your job and it’s something the men have been able to have for many years and it’s just so exciting now for all the girls to be involved and have choices.”
Britt said having women’s cricket sell out is a major milestone for the ACT.
“Cricket Australia’s been fantastic to be able to support and get our story out into the public eye and now having the support of the crowd and having that crowd is just fantastic to see.”
It’ll also be a great day for local cricket fans who love the baseball too.
