Getting our politicians to stand up and pay attention to global issues is a tough task!

But it looks like Ben & Jerry’s could be onto something with their latest delicious campaign.

The ice-cream maker has launched its official call to MP’s to make a change to Australian climate policy and make the move to renewable energy.

Ben & Jerry’s has sent personalised pints of its new limited edition ‘Gimme S’More Renewables’ flavour to key state and federal politicians, in a bid to get their support.

It features a combination of marshmallow ice-cream, chocolate cookies, Graham cracker swirls and fudge flakes.

Aussies are also urged to get involved at #RiseforClimate picnics and marches happening around the country this Saturday, September 8.

Locally, you can show your support at events outside Parliament House and at the Murrumbateman Village Market.

You can find all the details online!

Ben & Jerry’s Australia spokesperson, Bert Naber, said it’s the latest activity in their fight for climate justice.

“We want a cleaner, greener world and one of the best ways to do this is through renewable energy. Now, more than ever we need individuals, business, local, state and federal governments to take action,” he said.

The ice-cream maker has partnered up with 350.org Australia.

CEO Blair Palese said we’re already living with the impacts of climate change.

“Our farming communities are fighting drought. We’re living with more bushfires. Our oceans are warming and bleaching the Great Barrier Reef,” she said.

“We will stand up until we get a Parliament that takes serious action on climate change. This means looking beyond coal, to a sun-powered future for Australia.”

Only time will tell if these delicious personalised pints encourage our leaders to make a change!
