An edible Skywhale – who would have thought?

It was one of more than 70 Canberra-themed cakes that filled the Hyatt Hotel ballroom for the PANDSI Cake-Off.

Around $30,000 was raised for PANDSI – to help local families experiencing perinatal anxiety and/or depression.

There were no parts of Canberra that missed out, with cakes replicating iconic places and landmarks like Telstra Tower, the Carillon, Mooseheads, the Hyatt Hotel, Mount Majura, the list goes on!

And of course – the famous Belconnen Owl cakes made by HIT 104.7’s Ryan and Tanya!

Skywhale, made by Linda Verstappen from SomeoneSayCake, was undoubtedly one of the most popular.

The amazing creation, which took more than 20 hours to make, sold at auction for $190!

The most popular cakes will be showcased in the PANDSI Cake Off Canberra Themed book, to be launched during PNDA Week in November.
